ITIL and other IT Service Management training courses are expensive, and they take valued members of your team away for 3-5 days at a time. Ask yourself what the reason is for investing in this training. Is it simply to give your staff ITIL qualifications, which are very valuable to the individual, particularly when looking for new employment...or are you really wanting to make a difference to your organisation by improving your service management processes?
If it is the latter, then you may well find that you will get better value for your organisation by running an ITIL simulation both for members of the IT team and for management.
In a one day simulation your team can learn ITIL basic theory - achieving all the traditional organisation objectives for ITIL training. Involving members of your management team is an effective way of gaining buy-in and management commitment.
The Apollo 13 simulation from Gaming Works is an excellent 1 day workshop where participants can be involved in planning, building, launching and bringing the Apollo 13 Spaceship back safely to earth. The subject of the simulation is interesting and realistic. Have a look at a video about the game here.
If you are interested in discussing the possibility of running the Apollo 13 game in your organisation, send an email to and one of our consultants will get in touch to discuss the details.
